Forgotten
this is my release
this is my surrender
this is how I paint my words,
this is how I shelter
and I let them fall
- like empty basins -
like drops.
crashing and crumbling
spilling - across the floor
the expectation of what lies beyond,
like an old friend that's quick to anger
and much quicker to burn
visiting,
always to linger
but never to stay
this is my release
this is my shelter
this is where I lick my wounds
this is where I tend to them
alone is when I see myself
and this is how I take them
swallowed
broken
dissolved into time
perceived among my thoughts forgotten
unable to mutter or even to cry out
this moment may last forever
this instant of self-believe
as soon as we've all forgotten
as long as we all shall live
